Shellfish season is here

Signal crayfish or langoustines — which is your favourite? We have a hard time deciding, but it may still be the signal crayfish, boiled with plenty of crown dill, that we most want to sink our teeth into and slurp loudly.

Smoked prawns, though, we can never leave alone — it is dangerous work between the smokehouse and the counter. We almost always have boiled prawns in, of course. The freezer always holds both large and medium prawns, and from Wednesdays we aim to have fresh chilled ones in.

In the shop right now we have Swedish signal crayfish in medium size and langoustines in sizes 11/15 and 6/10. Blue mussels, crab and oysters are restocked continuously. The crayfish fishery in Vättern is now in full swing, though on occasion there may still be Vänern crayfish in the counter.
